Off the Grid is a new initiative focused on raising awareness of clean energy in Africa. Formed in partnership with pioneering forum organizer EnergyNet, the event was produced by pop musician Sudha Kheterpal, who is also founder of the start up ‘Shake Your Power’. We were delighted to provide stage and site production for the mini-festival, serving a big cause.
The mini-festival, held outside the Intercontinental O2 included an impressive line up including Fuse ODG, the MOBO Award winning British-Ghanaian rapper; Imaani, and legendary DJ, Rita Ray.
But the event is about more than just great artists. The Off the Grid Club provides a networking platform for technology providers and financiers working in Africa’s off grid energy space. The aim is to foster relationships to build momentum for the development of off-the- grid power solutions and energy access in Africa. The collective is also driven to connect local communities and engage them in the cause through the power of music and innovative technology. Local energy entrepreneurs are invited to showcase their new ‘off the grid’ solutions to potential customers and investors.
